Incident, nonconformity, and corrective action
The organisation will plan, establish, implement, and maintain a process to manage incidents and nonconformities including reporting, investigating and taking action.
When an incident or a nonconformity occurs, the organisation will:
β’ react in a timely manner to the incident or nonconformity:
o take direct action to control and correct it o deal with the consequences
β’ evaluate, with the involvement of workers and other relevant interested parties, the need for corrective action to eliminate the root cause(s) of the incident or nonconformity, in order that it does not reoccur, by:
o reviewing the incident or nonconformity
o determining causes of the incident or nonconformity
o determining if similar incidents, nonconformities, exist, or could potentially occur
- review the assessment of OH&S risks
- determine and implement any action needed, including corrective action, in accordance with thehierarchy of controls and the management of change:
o review the effectiveness of any corrective action taken
o make changes to the OH&S management system, if necessary
Corrective actions will be appropriate to the effects or potential effects of incidents or nonconformities. The organisation will retain documents as evidence of:
- the nature of incidents or nonconformities and subsequent actions taken
- the results of any corrective action, including the effectiveness of actions takenThe organisation will communicate this documented information to relevant workers, and if applicable, workersβ representatives, and any relevant interested parties.Continual improvement objectives%The_Company% will continually improve the appropriateness, adequacy, and effectiveness of the OH&S management system to:
- prevent occurrence of incidents and nonconformities
- promote a positive occupational health and safety culture
